At last the Big Day! 

The Baton - Parchment will be presented to the riders by Deputy Lord Mayor Janet Davidson OAM, as she farewells the team at the official starting point of The Great Bike Hike - Council House. 

At 9:45am, the riders will then proceed to Ashfield.

Would you like to join the riders and Hon Helen Morton MLC, Minister for Disability Services & Mental Health for a short bike ride to the launch at Steel Blue Oval?

Bring your bike to Ashfield Reserve. Be ready and assembled no later than 10:15am.

At 10:30am, we will proceed to Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean for the official launch. (see below)

Although the official Launch and Celebrations will be taking place at Steel Blue oval in Bassendean on Sunday 19th August, Fairholme in Guildford is our official STARTING POINT for The Great Bike Hike. 

We will depart at 7am on Monday 20th August.

Visit to Bindoon Primary School

The Great Bike Hike Team and the community of New Norcia will be hosting a sausage sizzle, and inclusive games & activities for children, parents and community members at the Education Centre from 3pm to 6pm.

A Great Bike Hike Paralympian will be speaking at the event.

The team will stop for morning tea with the Gillingarra community.  All community members are invited to attend.

Visit to Watheroo Primary School

The team will arrive in Coorow at 1pm and be accompanied through town and to the Coorow Primary School by Police escort and the Community.

All community members are invited to gather here and welcome the riders into town, then accompany them to Coorow School where there will be stalls & displays about community services for people with disabilities.

The P&C and the CWA will cater for afternoon tea at the school.

After school the riders will take a tour of the town.  They will be based at Maley Park, where the community resource centre will be open to the public.  Wildflower and tourist information is available here.

Visit to Carnamah District School

School children will ride out to meet the riders at 1pm and escort them into town.

An afternoon welcome & expo event will be held at the Sports Pavillion on the west side of town.

Visit to Mingenew School

Join the riders as they come into Town. Meet at the Shell Roadhouse at approximately 2pm and join students from Dongara District High School who will accompany the riders into town as they make their way to the school. 

The Community is invited to take an opportunity to meet the riders and carers at the Dongara District High School and support this worthy cause.

All showcasing projects and organisations that help make our City a welcoming and affirming place for people with disabilities, mental illness, their families and carers.

Join the Great Bike Hike riders with the Community Bike Ride as it comes into the City at any of these points from 1.45pm. (Approximate times)

• 1.45pm cnr. Broadhead Ave & Willcock Dr
• 2.00pm Hadda Way Car Park near Surf Life Saving club
• 2.10pm cnr. Cutler St & Fitzgerald St
• 2.20 cnr. Holland St & Shenton St
• 2.30pm finish at Queen Elizabeth Community Centre for the Welcome Event.

Marquee at the Geraldton Railway Markets - Meet and chat with the Great Bike Hike riders.

The riders will share a BBQ breakfast with students of Geraldton Senior College before departing for Northampton.

Riders will ride in to town with students from Northampton District High School, under Police Escort.

The meeting point is the CBH Wheat Bins 1km south of the town centre.

Lunch/afternoon tea at Kings Park for riders, crew and members of the local community.

At 3:30pm there will be an official ceremony with the passing of the baton, and an address from Darren Taylor.

Kings Park is located on the North side of the Miner's Arm's Hotel and across the road from IGA.

Visit to Binnu School.

Community ride in from the entrance to HMAS Sydney II Memorial Drive, to a formal event at the Civic Centre.

3pm - 4.30pm at the Civic Centre - all schools are invited to participate in formal proceedings here.

The riders & crew will be at the markets at the Civic Centre.  Come and have a chat!

When The Great Bike Hike team and support crew ride into Karratha we will be joining in Karratha's "Great Bike Hike Inclusion Fun Day!"

At 5pm the Fun Day will begin with a Welcome & presentation for the riders to celebrate the distance they have travelled to Karratha.

With the help of Inclusion WA, Karratha sporting groups are joining together to bring a free day of sports to the whole community. No matter what your age or ability level, everyone is welcome to come and have a go.

Held at Bulgarra Oval, Karratha, the Lions Club of Karratha and Dampier are putting on a free BBQ as well as demonstrations, try-it-out sports sessions and market stalls.

Don't forget that you'll get the chance to meet Paralympians and all the other Great Bike Hike riders.

A visit to Peg Creek School.

A visit to St Luke's college.

A series of workshops will be held in Port Hedland over 3 days for children and youth.

A final performance to be held on Sunday as part of The Great Bike Hike welcome event.

Riders will ride into town at 2pm.

At 3:30pm there will be an official welcome & baton presentation at Pundulmurra TAFE.

Members of the community are invited to join the riders for any part of the journey from Roebuck on this last day as they ride to Cable Beach.

Community and bike groups, with police escort will meet and ride into Broome with the Great Bike Hike riders around China Town and the Markets and out to Cable Beach.

At 10am there will be a formal welcome to Broome with The Great Bike Hike Finale Celebrations and interactive Count Me In Expo.
